GREEN TECHNOLOGY COMPLIANCE course is designed to introduce students with fundamentals of green technology, green practices, and green compliances towards the ultimate target of sustainable living. Student will be exposed to different feasible technologies in achieving goals that show developments in rapidly growing fields such as sustainability, innovation, viability and natural sources reduction. Student will also learn other areas where green technology is implemented such as energy, transport, building, waste and waste management.

CLO1 : Explain green fundamentals and practices of green technology, (C3, CLS 2)

CLO2 : Display green technology and practices concept in related areas within the industry in malaysia ( P4 , CLS 3a )

CLO3 : Demonstrate green economy and green culture challenges to implement green programmes ( A3 ,CLS 3b )

TYPOGRAPHY introduces typefaces in visual communication. The study focuses on the principles, anatomy and creative manipulations of the typefaces for visual communication purpose. The evolution of ancient writing to printed-typefaces and the art of calligraphy are explored for further understanding to be applied for graphic design items.

INTRODUCTION TO ART AND DESIGN introduces the basic elements and principles of art and design. The elements and principles used in visual communications and design determine the styles and trends tha1 form the essences of all aspects in design application. These introduce students to a wide ranqe of artistic and desiqn techniques. 

PROLOGUE TO GRAPHIC DESIGN introduces graphic design as a broad discipline that encompasses many different aspects and elements. Students will be exposed to the history of graphic design from late 19th to early 20th century and introduced to the icons of graphic design. Furthermore, the design thinking method will be practiced in generating ideas to develop appropriate design. Current issues and trends of graphic design will be continuously discussed to create an awareness of designs that may be philosophical sensory, aesthetic, emotional or political in nature.

INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING introduces students to the basic drawing by using various mediums and techniques in drawing. Experiences will be gained from exploring and viewing the physical environment and development of the drawn image.

PACKAGING DESIGN focuses on the creative aspects of combining application of
graphic and packaging in the creation of product identity for the purpose of selling. It
plays the crucial role in development of brand’s identity. 
Visual communication skills, design principles and processes are emphasized in producing product
packaging and labelling. Economical, practical and visually attractive products
identities are the key aspects in packaging design.

GRAPHIC DESIGN STUDIES is the introduction of the procedure of creative research in visual communication and design based discipline. It provides the comprehensive guide on research techniques and proposal writing as a preparation for the GRAPHIC DESIGN PROJECT course in semester 5. Students will be exposed to basic research and data collection. Case study is applied and to complete the course, students will have to use digital and numerical skills in order to collect and interpret data in order to write their research proposal and use the data to generate well-defined idea.
